As California grapples with significant teacher shortages, school leaders are facing increased challenges in recruiting and retaining qualified teachers. What does the research point to as evidence-based strategies to recruit and retain a high-quality workforce? What policies and practices can districts pursue to meet their workforce needs locally? And what can the state do to address teacher shortages while simultaneously strengthening our teacher workforce?  This session will examine recent research on teacher shortages in California, as well as evidence-based policies to address them. Presenters will also discuss recent state investments to address teacher shortages.
